Overview

The newborn screening profile test is a comprehensive test covering a wide range of parameters for the detection of rare genetic, hormone-related, and metabolic conditions in newborn babies which may turn into abnormalities like Phenylketonuria (PKU), congenital hyperthyroidism, cystic fibrosis, etc. For the test, the blood sample is collected from the baby’s heel after 24-48 hours of the birth with the consent of the parents.
